Dan and Cherie Smith
Cherie Smith is the owner of Daystar Pets. After several years of pet sitting for another company in the Washington, DC area, Cherie moved to Hampton Roads when her husband, Dan, found a contractor job here. She started Daystar Pets in 1999.
After four years in the Deep Creek area of Chesapeake, the business had grown from a one-person operation to three pet sitters. Dan and Cherie moved to a 20+ acre parcel of land in Western Suffolk and hired more pet sitters.
Dan’s contractor employer was outbid on the contract and Dan now works for Cherie, cleaning houses as well as providing pet sitting in Suffolk and surrounding towns for Daystar Pets. Dan and Cherie handle "Downtown" Suffolk and beyond, including Franklin, Courtland, and Isle of Wight.

In life, there is nothing more important than family. Our chocolate lab, Mizuki, is a valued and cherished member of ours. Both my husband and I work long hours, we rest assured Daystar Pets will take care of our little lady while we're out. She loves her mid-day ball session or stroll around the neighborhood. Daystar Pets has helped to create a routine that makes the work week succesesful for the whole family.
When I come home tired, she is happy and had enough exercise to satisfy her. (At least sometimes, she's still a puppy at heart!) If you're looking for a solution to keep your pets happy while you're hard at work, Daystar Pets has the knowledge, experience, and flexibility to be there when you cannot.
